Pie chart of Assays for datasetThis study aims to compare the epigenomes of different patient-derived models of colorectal cancer (PDO (Patient-Derived Organoid), PDX (Patient-Derived Xenograft), and PDOX (Patient-Derived Orthotopic Xenograft) to the original patient tumor (PT) using next-generation sequencing (NGS). Researchers prepared samples from PT, PDO, PDX, and PDOX, including three biological replicates per set, and sequenced them. They analyzed the data to assess chromatin accessibility in each model. This study represents the first detailed analysis of the colorectal cancer epigenome in these models, highlighting chromatin alterations and the influence of the growth environment on tumor cells. This could be important for understanding how different environments influence tumor behavior, potentially leading to more effective personalized treatments for colorectal cancer.
